Management Institute Offers Seminar on Dealing with Terrorism
February 5, 2002
Does your business have a crisis protocol and a secure facility? Or do you think terrorist attacks won't happen to you?
The University of Richmond's Management Institute is offering a two-day workshop on dealing with terrorism that will help businesses understand today's threats and how to deal with them. Teaching the course are two University of Richmond graduates: John Barelli, who designed all electronic security systems for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and Larry Potts, formerly the FBI's chief operating officer and head of anti-terrorism activities.
The workshop, offered Feb. 11-12 and repeated in April, June, September and December, is one of nearly 100 courses and seminars the institute has scheduled for 2002. Other courses deal with such topics as strategic project management, developing leadership skills, budget and cost management, business planning and dealing with difficult people.
The terrorism workshop will address physical security, executive protection, travel security, special event management and crisis management. Upon completion, participants will know how to evaluate the security of their facilities, establish crisis protocol, understand their businesses' vulnerabilities and implement crisis plans.
The Management Institute is the executive education division of the Robins School of Business. To register for the terrorism workshop or receive a catalog with complete details on all courses, call the institute at 804-289-8019.
