Opus 59, #3," by Beethoven; and "Quintet in B minor for
Clarinet and Strings, Opus 115," by Brahms.
The New York Times compares the Shanghai Quartet's style to "the aristocratic style of prewar European quartets." Of David Shifrin, the San Francisco Chronicle says, "The sound he produces is a revelation in just how beautifully the clarinet can be played."
