Williams holds a B.A. from Brown University and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University, where he served on the Vanderbilt Law Review. He teaches civil procedure, conflict of laws, evidence and federal jurisdiction. In addition to teaching, he serves as associate dean for academic affairs at Richmond. He has served as a consultant to various court systems and bar organizations on their rules of practice and procedure. Prior to coming to Richmond, he was an attorney in Dallas, specializing in products liability and professional negligence litigation.
