Szakmary holds B.A. and MBA degrees from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in financial economics from the University of New Orleans. He has published articles in Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Futures Markets, Financial Review, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and other publications. He is a member of the Midwest and Southern Finance Associations and the Financial Management Association.
