Szajda holds a B.S. in mathematics from Lafayette College and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in mathematics from the University of Virginia. He also holds a master of computer science degree from U.Va. and was a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies. He is conducting research under a National Science Foundation grant to study security issues of distributed volunteer computing platforms. He has worked in industry as a consulting member of High-Performance Computing Laboratory, Parabon Computation, in Fairfax, Va. and has been an expert witness in a patent infringement suit.
