Pollack teaches courses on new venture creation, the psychology of entrepreneurship, business planning, organizational behavior, and organizational design and effectiveness. He received his Ph.D. in management from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2009 and holds a master of science degree from North Carolina State University and a B.S. from Northwestern University.

Pollack is the former owner of a small business and worked as a financial adviser before pursuing his doctorate. His work has been published in numerous venues in the areas of entrepreneurship, ethics, leadership, improving employee selection and other topics.
