Owen holds a B.S. in mathematics from Salisbury University and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in statistics from the University of South Carolina. He teaches introductory and advanced courses on statistics and actuarial science. He has been a research presenter at national and international conferences on statistics. In addition, Owen has served as an expert witness, and he has offered statistical consulting services to the Richmond, Va., community.
