Fagan received bachelor's and master of business administration degrees from the University of Richmond. He teaches software tools and applications and financial and managerial accounting. A certified public accountant, he conducts research on nonprofit organizations. He has been a controller and CFO in industry and was a consultant to companies in Germany and The Netherlands.
