Deans holds a B.S. from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, an M.Ed. from North Carolina State, an MBA from East Carolina, a Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina and an MLA from the University of Arizona. She is author of seven books on a variety of topics, including global e-business, managing information technology in a global context, global information systems and technology, and international business resources on the World Wide Web.
