Daleng has been the university's director of dance for 21 years. She teaches dance classes, serves as artistic director for the university dancers and choreographs musicals for university players' productions. She holds a bachelor of arts in dance from the University of Maryland and a master's in dance from James Madison University. She was a principal dancer with the Richmond Ballet and principal dancer and artistic director of Ballet Contemporary, the Richmond Ballet's modern company. She co-founded and performed with the Virginia Dance Company. Ms. Daleng taught dance for nine years at Virginia Governor's School for the Visual and Performing Arts hosted by the University of Richmond, and she regularly trains in New York, Chicago and Boston.
