Abrams received a B.A. from Dartmouth and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. He is a clinical psychologist who investigates respiratory abnormalities in individuals with panic disorder, treatments for pathological gambling, and factors leading to co-morbidity between alcoholism and anxiety disorders. He teaches methods and analyses, psychopathology, and clinical approaches to adult psychopathology. His articles on these subjects have appeared in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Psychology of Addictive Behaviors and Drug and Alcohol Dependence.
