University of Richmond's Walter Green Named Fellow of Health Care Organization
December 12, 2002
Walter G. Green III, program director of the Emergency Services Management degree program in the University of Richmond's School of Continuing Studies, has been named a fellow of the American Academy of Medical Administrators (AAMA).
Green, who also is assistant professor of emergency management at Richmond, was given a certificate at the academy's annual meeting in Boston last month. Only 17 members of the academy's international membership of about 2,500 were so designated. The academy's members are people who manage health care systems, hospitals and health care delivery systems.
The fellow designation is for overall career contributions to the field of health care.
When Green began the ESM program at Richmond five years ago, it was one of only four in the nation. Now there are nearly 70. Green is a former director of emergency operations for the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services. He also is a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and author of several books and articles on emergency medical services.
