University of Richmond Selected for Princeton Review's "Best 361 Colleges" and "Newsweek-Kaplan College Guide"

August 22, 2006

Two top college guidebooks have selected University of Richmond for inclusion in their 2007 edition “best” lists.

The Princeton Review selected University of Richmond for its annual guidebook, “The Best 361 Colleges,” and the “Newsweek-Kaplan College Guide” chose Richmond for its list of “America’s 369 Most Interesting Schools.” Both are on sale now.

The Princeton Review presents what it rates as the top 15 percent of American four-year colleges as a group—not in a ranking format. “We consider these colleges the best in the nation academically,” said author Robert Franek. “But the real challenge for applicants and parents is finding the college that’s best for them.”

The Princeton Review selects the “The Best 361” primarily for outstanding academics, using institutional data, feedback from current students, campus visits, opinions of independent college counselors and surveys of students and parents. Richmond has been highlighted in every edition since the book was first published in 1992.

Last week, U.S. News and World Report ranked Richmond tied for 34th on its prestigious list of national liberal arts colleges. BusinessWeek magazine named the university’s Robins School of Business one of the top 25 undergraduate business programs in the country. A new Princeton Review publication in stores this fall, “The Best 282 Business Schools,” has chosen the Robins School MBA program for inclusion.
