Harvard Professor to Give Berry Lecture at University of Richmond

A Harvard researcher known for her study of the changing roles of women in the United States during the 20th century will present the 2004 Thomas S. Berry Lecture in Economic History at the University of Richmond Sept. 13.
Dr. Claudia Goldin, Henry Lee Professor of Economics at Harvard, will discuss "The Long Road to the Fast Track: Career and Family" at 7:30 p.m. in the Jepson Alumni Center. The lecture is open to the public at no charge.
Goldin is author of "Understanding the Gender Gap," published in 1990, which analyzes the differences in pay between men and women. She also wrote "Urban Slavery in the American South" and articles on the economics of emancipation and the economic cost of the Civil War.
