United Fresh Produce Association recognizes University of Richmond executive chef Glenn Pruden

The United Fresh Produce Association recently named Glenn Pruden, executive chef and assistant director of University Dining, winner of the 2009 Produce Excellence in Foodservice Award for the Business in Industry & Colleges category.
Pruden, who also is an adjunct professor in the university's culinary arts program in the School of Continuing Studies, was named the Most Valuable Professor for the School of Continuing Studies in 2007 and was the Virginia Chef Association's 2006 Chef of the Year. In 2005, the organization awarded him the President's Award in recognition of devoted and distinguished service to the culinary arts profession and food industries.
Pruden became a Certified Executive Chef in 1999. He has worked for the university for more than 30 years and also oversees a multi-million dollar catering service and two convenience stores. He served as chairman of the Virginia Chef's Chocolate Festival from 2004-08 and currently serves on the Culinary Advisory Board for Chesterfield County Schools. Pruden is a member of the American Culinary Federation, the Virginia Chef's Association and the World Association of Cooks Societies.
