Robins School professor Kent B. Monroe to receive 2008 Paul D. Converse Award as a pioneer of marketing

April 17, 2008

Kent B. Monroe, visiting distinguished scholar at the University of Richmond's Robins School of Business, will receive a 2008 Paul D. Converse Award from the American Marketing Association for his pioneering work in marketing on April 19.

Monroe, whose research focuses on behavioral pricing and consumer shopping behavior, will be one of five Converse Award winners to be recognized at the 17th Paul D. Converse Symposium at the University of Illinois.

The symposium is held every four years, presenting achievement awards that Fortune magazine has called "a marketing hall of fame." The University of Illinois Department of Business Administration and the Central Illinois chapter of the American Marketing Association are permanent hosts of the event.

Monroe and the other winners will present programs and answer questions during the three-day symposium April 17-19.
