University of Richmond Fraternity Raises $25,000 for Special Olympics

Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity’s University of Richmond chapter raised nearly $25,000 for Special Olympics by participating in the Polar Plunge at Virginia Beach Feb. 4.
Thirty-five chapter members and SAE’s regional director obtained pledges for jumping into the 38-degree ocean at Virginia Beach. The fraternity’s team total was second only to that of Virginia Natural Gas, which raised around $26,000. Overall, more than 3,000 participants raised a grand total of $590,000.
Special Olympics provides sports training and competition year round for special needs people. University of Richmond provides facilities for local Special Olympics each summer.
