College Consortium Changes Name
April 27, 2001
Learning in Community Settings (LINCS), a consortium of four Richmond colleges and universities that fosters community-based, problem-solving teaching methods and connects community and campus resources, has changed its name to Campus Community Partnership of Metro Richmond.
"The change was made to more accurately reflect the collaborative nature of the consortium and its expanding role in the Richmond community," said Nancy Stutts, co-director of the consortium at the University of Richmond.
The consortium is housed at Jepson Hall on the University of Richmond campus. The member institutions--J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia Union University and the University of Richmond--reflect the diversity of American higher education by uniting a community college, a large urban, public university, a historically black liberal arts college, and a small private liberal arts university.
More information about the consortium is available at http://www.richmond.edu/academics/leadership/programs/lincs.html.
