Programs for Virginians
In addition to the University's generous merit scholarships and need-based aid packages, students from Virginia may take advantage of these programs:
- All Virginia residents are eligible to receive the Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG) from the Commonwealth, an annual grant of approximately $3,200. The application must be submitted by July 31, 2008.
- Virginia residents who also receive need-based aid through Richmond in Reach may use VTAG funds to replace part of the need-based loan/work-study portion of their aid package, meaning these students will receive more of their demonstrated eligibility in grant assistance (which does not need to be repaid).
- For any entering first-year student from Virginia who qualifies for admission, whose total family income is $40,000 or less and who demonstrates eligibility for need-based aid, the University of Richmond provides an aid package equal to full tuition, room and board (without loans).
