Introduction

The material and information presented in Article Four reflect the formal organization and functional areas of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. The duties and responsibilities of each Athletics Administrator are listed in following sections. Athletics Administrators are held directly responsible for the areas listed in their respective primary areas of responsibilities. All required changes or any comments which may improve the organizational structure should be submitted to the Senior Associate Director of Athletics, Robins Center, University of Richmond, VA 23173 for action and/or consideration.

Management Group

The Director of Athletics, Senior Associate Director of Athletics, Associate Director of Athletics for Business and Finance, Associate Director of Athletics for Event Management and Facilities, Associate Director of Athletics for Communications and Public Relations, Associate Director of Athletics for Administration, and Associate Director of Athletics for Development form the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics Management Group. The Management Group will hold weekly meetings to discuss administrative and management issues affecting the Department.

Assignment of Responsibilities for Articles in the Policies and Procedures Manual

The Senior Associate Director of Athletics coordinates all updates of the University of Richmond Department of Intercollegiate Athletics Policies and Manual and maintains the master copy and online electronic copy. Members of the Departmental Administrative Staff are assigned areas of the Manual to keep updated. These areas are assigned to Administrative Staff members who have primary responsibilities for the specific areas. These articles are assigned as the primary responsibility of the position noted:

Associate Director of Athletics for Administration

Assistant Director of Athletics for Academics

Associate Director of Athletics for Business Management

Associate Director of Athletics for Event Management and Facilities

Academic Coordinator
