ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS FOR COMMUNICATIONS AND PUBLIC RELATIONS


The major focus of the Associate Director of Athletics for Communications and Public Relations is serving as the contact person for all forms of communications and media relations.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Coordinate and direct the activities of the sports information staff which provides public and media relations for all nineteen (19) University-sponsored intercollegiate sports;
  2. Serve as spokesman for the department when the situation warrants and coordinate community relations and speaking engagements;
  3. Design programs and projects to assist community agencies while aiding the development of Richmond student-athletes;
  4. Oversees Sports Information Office and production of all publications (recruiting guides, Spider Club, etc.);
  5. Coordinates the TV/Coaches's Shows;
  6. Oversees design and upkeep of Sports Information WEB pages (Internet);
  7. Serve as the liaison with various other University departments in creating overall University involvement by athletics.

The Associate Director of Athletics for Communications and Public Relations reports to the Director of Athletics.
