Introduction
Article 12, Intercollegiate Athletics Ticket Priorities Policy,
is part of the University of Richmond Intercollegiate Athletic
Policies and Procedures Manual. The purpose of this article (hereafter
referred to as ticket policy) is to provide athletics coaches,
athletics staff members, students, members of the University community,
and the general public a concise basic reference on matters concerning
ticket priority policies.
The materials and information presented here are a condensation
of a number of policies, procedures, and references pertaining
to ticket policies. Users of this ticket policy are encouraged
to make note of any information in the policy which conflicts
with existing University, NCAA, and/or conference policies, procedures,
or legislation. Noted conflicts and/or recommended changes or
comments which may improve the ticket policy should be submitted
to the Director of Ticket Operations, Robins Center, University
of Richmond, VA 23173.
Section 1. Goals
The goals of the ticket policy are to:
- promote attendance at University of Richmond athletics events
and, particularly in football, men's and women's basketball,
and soccer, and generate funds to help support the intercollegiate
athletic programs for men and women;
- provide greater incentive for University of Richmond students
to attend football, men's and women's basketball, and soccer
games;
- give priorities to those persons who have loyally supported
football, men's and women's basketball, and soccer teams in the
past years through the purchase of season tickets by giving them
the option to renew annually the purchase of their existing seats
for the respective sports;
- encourage alumni and friends of the University to purchase
season tickets;
- give recognition and priorities to faculty and staff members
and Young Graduates;
- provide an incentive for contributions to University of Richmond
by giving priorities for the purchase of available seats to those
who have contributed to athletic programs or other programs of
the University; and
- provide access to University athletics events for the general
public.
Section 2. Ticket Priority
Dates
Dates will be established and announced annually by the Director
of Ticket Operations for purchase of season tickets to football,
men's and women's basketball and soccer games and for other sports
as the need arises. All season ticket orders must be received
on or before the established dates for a person to be able to
exercise his or her priority or option.
- Those persons holding season tickets, in the respective sports,
must renew their options annually to retain their existing seats.
- In every case, season ticket orders will be filled before
individual game ticket orders. Individual game ticket orders
will be filled on the designated date with the same priorities
on available tickets as those for season tickets.
Section 3. Criteria for Ticket
Priorities
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Athletics
for Development, the Director of Ticket Operations will determine
ticket priorities. The following areas will be considered:
- the number of consecutive years the buyer has purchased season
tickets;
- the renewal of season tickets for the present year;
- current contributions to the University of Richmond for the
academic year, based on a scale of contributions; and
- contributions to University of Richmond intercollegiate athletics
and other programs, accumulated over the preceding five years.
- Groups submitting requests to be seated together will be
assigned group seating based upon the priority of the least senior
member of the group.
Section 4. Faculty/Staff Priorities

at these rates will be in the areas assigned above.

for Ticket Priorities), consideration will be given to the number
of years as a full-time employee of the University, seating held
in previous years, and any physical limitations which make certain
seat/area assignments necessary. Faculty and staff will make
written requests for season tickets on the Faculty and Staff
Ticket Request Form. No season tickets or individual games tickets
will be sold to faculty and staff at reduced rates until all
advanced written requests have been prioritized, seat locations
assigned, and tickets issued.
- Faculty and staff groups submitting requests to be seated
together will be assigned group seating based on the priority
