Mission Statement
The Center for Teaching, Learning & Technology is a resource for assisting
others in the design, creation, and evaluation of innovative learning
experiences. Center resources include people, equipment, skills,
and ideas for partnering with members of the University community
to improve the educational experience of our students.
Organization
The Center
for Teaching, Learning & Technology is a division of Information
Services, with the Director reporting to the Vice President for
Information Services. The Center also has strong ties to the Provost's
Office and works closely with the Provost and the Deans of each
of the 5 Schools on academic issues. Two faculty committees, Academic
Computing and the Program to Enhance Teaching Effectiveness (PETE)
provide guidance to the Center. While all computing decisions
on campus are made with the needs of the academic program firmly
in mind, having a unit that is expressly charged with bridging
the two arenas helps the University of Richmond remain on the
forefront of instructional technology and provides a very explicit
conduit for communication.
