submitting a
Transcript Request

Student records, including the academic transcript, are protected by the
FERPA privacy act. Only the student may request a copy of his or her academic
record. Family or friends are not permitted access to student records without
the written consent of the student.
Official
Transcript Policy

Transcripts must be
requested in person, by mail, or by fax (student/alumni signature required)
and only University of Richmond transcripts may be requested or
released.

To obtain a
copy of your transcript
in person,
you
must have an acceptable and valid ID (proof of identity) with signature and
photo. Please present your ID at the time of your request, if the name shown
on your primary identification does not match the name on your school records,
you will be required to present additional proof of identity.

Each
request requires an individual form with student/alumni signature.

E-mailed
requests
are not accepted.

Financial
obligations (holds) to the university must be cleared before requests can be
honored.

While we process transcripts
daily, we reserve the right to a three to five day processing time.

Transcripts
will be mailed through the U.S. Postal Service. Requests for rushed delivery
will be handled through Federal Express. Requestor must submit written request
before 3pm and provide a FedEx account number.

The University
of Richmond will not fax transcripts.

Walk-in
request limit – if more than 25 transcripts are needed the requestor should
allow five business days for processing.
Fees for transcripts:
Once 80
transcripts have been issued per person, the following fees will be charged:
(for current students, this fee can be charged to the student's
account)
Law students applying to clerkships may apply for a fee waiver
through the Law School Career Service office.
Requesting
Copies of Your Official Transcript in Person
The Office of the University Registrar is open weekdays from 8:30
a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and is located in Sarah Brunet Hall. Students and former
students are welcome to visit the office and request a transcript free of
charge. The Registrar's Office provides a short transcript request form
which must be completed. Depending on the number of pending requests,
transcripts can be processed while you wait. Please note, however, that if the
number of transcripts pending is high or if transcript verification must be
completed (for older student records), it may be an hour or more before a
transcript is ready.
Requesting
Your Official Transcript by Mail or by FAX
The Office of the University Registrar accepts requests for free Official
Transcripts by fax (804-287-6578) or by Mail. Print a
Transcript Request Form (pdf), complete, and fax or mail to the office.
Requests will usually be processed within 24-48 hours of receipt. Please note
that although you may request a transcript via fax, you may not receive a
transcript by fax.

Unofficial transcripts
Unofficial transcripts are available online at no charge.
Log on to
BannerWeb, click on the Student
Services option, click on Student Records option, and click on the Academic
Transcript option. If you are an alumnus and need your ID number to log in,
please contact Alumni Relations at (804) 289-8026. For other log in questions,
