Add/Drop, Withdrawal Policy for Undergraduate Arts &
Sciences, Robins School of Business, and Leadership Studies Students
Specific information, dates,
and times can be found on the Academic Calendar.
The two-week Add/Drop period begins the first day of
a semester's classes and lasts until the last day of the second week of classes. You may add or drop courses through BannerWeb. In
general, the system is available during this period 24 hours a day, with the
exception of 5:00 p.m. Friday through 6:00 a.m. on Saturdays. You will need your
student PIN (If this is the first time to access BannerWeb, go to https://bannerweb.richmond.edu/pin.html
for information on your initial login) to
add or drop classes. You will also need your Term PIN if you have not already
registered. Some things to remember:
- Some classes have only a one-week add period. See "5D" or
"5DGR" notations on BannerWeb.
- Some courses and/or conditions require special approvals for reasons such
as course restrictions, maximum hours, and limit overrides. See Department
Chairs to override the restrictions or sign Registration Special Approval
Forms (bring signed forms to the Office of the University Registrar in Sarah
Brunet Hall to be registered).
- Beginning on the Friday of the first week of
classes at 5 p.m., a $10 fee will be billed for each course
added or dropped (this is a per transaction fee, that is, adding a class
and dropping a class counts as two transactions). This fee will appear on
the next bill issued by the University. You can avoid the bill by paying in
person at the Student Accounts Office the day following your transactions.
The Add/Drop Period ends at 5:00 p.m. on the
Friday of the second week of classes.
Withdrawals
Courses dropped after that time are considered withdrawals with record, which must be
completed by submitting a late Add/Withdrawal form with all required signatures to the
Office of the University Registrar. To withdraw from a course with record, you
will need to obtain signatures from your instructor (who will indicate whether
you are withdrawing passing or failing) and your advisor (Business School
students, see the Associate Dean). You will be charged a $10 fee for each
withdrawal. Forms are available at departments and in the Office of the
University Registrar.
