The Collegian Goes Digital

The Collegian is the University's student newspaper that has been in publication since 1914. It consists of over 90 volumes and tells the story of the Richmond experience as told by those who lived it. Generations of alumni can now relive their college days and prospective students can gain a historic perspective of what it means to be a Richmond Spider. The Collegian is full text searchable, with the ability to view the article or complete newspaper page.

The Collegian is made available utilizing Greenstone – an open source software program licensed under the Gnu Public License. Greenstone is produced by the world-renowned digital libraries research group at the University of Waikato in New Zealand.
