1) Use either single keywords (ex., Hitler) or phrases (ex., war marriages, Declaration of Independence). |

2) Do not worry about punctuation. |

3) Do not use operators like "and: (ex., declaration and independence). The search engine will return no results. |

4) Results Summary button at top of screen gives you a total number of search results for all collections. Results displays takes you to the list of search results. |

5) Use Previous and More links to move from one page of your list of search results to the next. |
 |
6) Once you have selected a record, Previous and Next buttons take you to previous and next items in your list of search results. |
 |
7) For a New Search, use the drop-down menu. |
 |
8) To get back to the America at War main page, use the white America at War button at the top of the screen. |
