When is tuition due?

Tuition and fees for Fall are due the 1st Monday of August.  Tuition for Spring is due the 1st Monday in December.

When will I receive a tuition bill?

Fall tuition bills are mailed to all students around the 8th of July.  Spring tuition bills are mailed around the 8th of November. 

How can I pay my tuition and fees?

You can pay your tuition and fees in several ways:

  • Checks drawn off of a US Bank made payable to the University of Richmond.

  • e-Payment is an optional feature. Checking and savings account information from a Bank within the United States can be entered at the QuikPAY® website and payments will be transferred electronically to the University of Richmond. You will have the option to have the site retain your bank account information or may enter it each time you make an e-Payment. The University of Richmond accepts MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Visa is not currently accepted. A vendor fee of 2.75% (of the amount charged) will be charged to your account.
     

  • For wire transfer information, please contact Student Accounts toll free (866) 241-8893 or (804) 289-8147.
     

  • Contract with our Deferred Tuition Payment Plan, TuitionPay.  You can spread out the payment of tuition and fees over 10 months.  Exchange and visiting students who are here for only a year or a semester can pay in 5 monthly installments. Your first payment would start in June and monthly payments would end in March.  Information from TuitionPay will be mailed to you the end of April.  For more information call (800) 635-0120 or e-mail info@tuitionpay.com or visit www.tuitionpay.com/urich.  

Is there a bank on campus?

The University does not have a bank on campus.  There is a First Market Bank ATM located in Tyler Haynes Commons. The University Cashier, located in Sarah Brunet Hall, will cash checks for students up to $100 a day and will cash Student UR payroll checks for any amount.

Where do I send my tuition payments?

All correspondence should be mailed to:  Student Accounts, Box R, 113 Sarah Brunet Hall, University of Richmond, VA 23173.

How often are bills mailed?

Bills are emailed every month. These bills are emailed to the student at their University of Richmond e-mail address. Students can set up authorized payers to receive the bill also. Miscellaneous charges such as library fines, parking tickets, Health Center test, monthly long distance charges are also included on the student’s account and billed monthly. There will be no more paper bills after October 2007.

Who do I contact regarding my bill or charges on my account?

You may contact the Bursar’s Office at bursar@richmond.edu or toll free (866) 241-8893.  Various departments place charges on your student account.  The Bursar’s Office does not have the authority to adjust or remove another department’s charge.  You must contact the issuing department with any questions or concerns.

How do I put money on my Spidercard?

You can visit the Bursar’s Office in Sarah Brunet Hall or call us at (804) 289-8769 or visit our website https://spidercard.richmond.edu and charge your deposit to a MasterCard, Discover or American Express.  You can also mail a check to: Student Accounts, Box R, University of Richmond, VA 23173.  Be sure to reference your student’s name and social security number.

What are your hours?

The Cashier’s Office is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9-2 and Tuesday and Thursday from 9-2:30.  The Student Accounts office is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30- 5:00 and on Wednesdays from 9:00-5:00.

Will I need ID to cash my check?

Yes.  You will need to provide your current UR ID.

If another student or relative has written me a check, can I cash it at the Cashier’s Office?

Yes, as long as it is under $100.
