Emergency Procedures

 

In the event of an emergency, please contact our office during normal office hours, 9 am - 5 pm, Monday through Friday. If there is an emergency outside of the normal business hours, the University Campus Police, which is available 24 hours, should be notified.

Campus Police contact information:

For life threatening emergencies, dial 911 from any campus phone or by using the yellow callboxes located around campus which have a direct line to the police station. If you are calling from an outside line such as a cell phone, dial 1-804-289-8911.

For non life threatening emergencies, dial 8715 from the campus or 1-804-289-8715 from an outside line.

For a recorded message with updated information if there is a crisis on the University of Richmond campus, dial 8760 on campus or 1-804-289-8760 from an outside line.

If you want to go to the Police Station, they are located in the Special Programs Building.

Additionally, home telephone numbers of key OIE staff are distributed to all students in the arrival booklet, which you received with your University acceptance packet and immigration documentation. 

You may want to print this message and carry it with you. You may also want to forward this information to your parents so they know that we have emergency procedures in place. If your parents are concerned about the current situation, please ask them to call our office.
