Since the majority of undergraduate students live on campus in university housing, most students eat in the dining center. The dining center offers various meal plans to students. You may select your meal plan upon your arrival to the University. First and second year students are required to purchase a full meal plan which consists of 19 meals. Vegetarian entrees are available at each meals. Local grocery stores are approximately 20 minutes on foot or by bus. There is a local bus which can drop you close to a grocery store as well as other shops and movie theaters. Americans eat dinner rather early compared to many other countries. This is reflected in the operating hours of the Dining Center. (Hours can be found on the Dining Services website.)

Nutrition

A registered dietician works in Dining Services at the University to ensure that all students maintain healthy diets and proper nutrition. Students with special dietary needs or concerns should contact Carolyn Powell at (804)289-8521 to schedule an appointment.
