Tornadoes

Tornadoes are funnel shaped storms which rotate
much like hurricanes; however, tornadoes are much smaller than hurricanes.
As hot air spins upward, the tornado spins around. Winds in the center
of the tornado can reach speeds of 400 miles per hours. Tornadoes are violent
because of their speed, and the fact that they are unpredictable. As they
travel they jump around the land, sucking up anything in their path. Tornadoes
over a body of water are called water spouts.
