How did
you get a C in Spanish? Let's find out. This is a good way to know what
your grades will be before you get your report card. Also, you can check
to see if the grade your teacher gave you is right. Teachers make mistakes,
too! Here's what you need to calculate your final grade in any class:

So, you
make a list of all the grades you have recieved. Here's what you find:
| Homework | 94, 87, 92, 85, 83, 89, 79, 91, 83, 90 |
| Quizzes | 89, 86, 90, 83, 84 |
| Tests | 81, 87, 78 |
Next, average
the grades within each category to get one grade for each.
| Homework | 87.3 |
| Quizzes | 86.4 |
| Tests | 82 |
Your Spanish
teacher has told you that homework is worth 25% of your total grade; quizzes
are worth 30%; and tests are worth 45%. The last step to calculating your
grade is multiplying each category's grade by the percentage that is assigned
to it. Add these three numbers to get your final grade.
| Homework | 87.3 x 25% = 87.3 x .25 = 21.825 |
| Quizzes | 86.4 x 30% = 86.4 x .30 = 25.92 |
| Tests | 82 x 45% = 82 x .45 = 36.9 |
| Total | 21.825 + 25.92 + 36.9 = 84.645 |
Your final grade is 84.645! Most teachers round the final grades, so your rounded grade is 85, which gives you a C in Spanish.
