Art and Math:
How Are They
Related?

Almost any artist will tell you that there is some kind of mathematical or symmetrical pattern involved in creating pictures. Art doesn't necessarily require addition, subtraction, division, or multiplication. There is, however, a great need for geometric shapes and figures. Notice the picture at the top of the screen. There are some triangles, squares, rectangles, and parallelograms found in each of the images found in the picture. In my education class at the University of Richmond with Dr. Patricia Stohr-Hunt, I created a HyperCard stack dealing with geometry. Since geometry and art go hand in hand, why don't you explore my HyperCard stack and see what you learn! My stack is a self-extracting archive in the form of a binhexed file compressed with StuffIt. My stack can be downloaded to your computer by clicking HERE!
PLEASE NOTE: This is a Macintosh application that requires HyperCard 2.3 or HyperCard Player 2.3.
Hopefully after viewing this stack you will understand a little better how math and art can be related through geometry!
