The Task
During a war, media becomes an important tool for the government in maintaining the level of preparedness and enthusiasm of the people. Governments accomplish this through newspapers, newscasts, and propaganda. In this project it will be your job to create an editorial article from one of the three countries. You will also put together a PowerPoint presentation describing a day in the life of an American, German and Japanese citizen, before and after World War II. Your final objective will be to create a positive propaganda poster for one of the other two countries. In writing the editorial and making the poster, it is important to take the unique perspective of that country through the eyes of its citizens (the PowerPoint should help you do this). In order to do this each person in your group will study one of four aspects of life during the war.
