Curriculum Standards

When students have completed this webquest they should be able to. . .

~ Identify and analyze the universal themes found in Wuthering Heights.

~ Explain how universal themes can be applied to any period.

~ Analyze how historical background applies to a novel, especially in setting, costuming, and character background.

~ Use the computer to research a variety of skills and information and then use what they learned to create an impressive portfolio.

~ Work together in a group to create a portfolio.

~ Appreciate Wuthering Heights.

Beyond the Standards

This webquest affects more than just English. It teaches the students how to work together and how to use technology to their advantage. It also focuses a lot on history. This would be an interesting interdisciplinary project if it was modified to focus more upon history. Most of all this webquest hopes to make the project so much fun that te students almost forget that they are learning, because that is when you can get them to learn the most!
