This WebQuest is designed for fourth grade history and social science and involves English and art to a lesser extent. This lesson can also be adapted to additional grades studying the settlement of Jamestown by increasing or decreasing the length of the accompanied writing assignment. Furthermore, additional subjects such as mathematics may be included if a stronger focus is placed on the money, barter, and credit systems that were used during the early 1600s.
In order
to perform this lesson, the students will need to have a basic understanding
of the Internet and web pages. The students will also need to utilize skills
designed for historical and geographical analysis as explained in the Virginia
