The Task
You are each respected members of the Pahala community. Each of you specializes in history, volcanology or emergency response. Your neighbors and community members are depending on you and your expertise to determine if there is any danger and the steps that should be taken given the circumstances.
Your task is to investigate the workings of a volcano, specifically Mount Kilauea,
including warning signs and consequences affecting the surrounding community
of an eruption. Your group will be researching volcanic history, Mount Kilaueas
current volcanic activity and emergency response tactics. In the end you will
use your research to devise an emergency response plan that the town can use,
as well as a public notice poster updating the community on the current status
of Mount Kilauea.
In order to complete your task, you will need to use the World Wide Web to research
information in your area of expertise.
