The Process
Step 1: You will be assigned one of the four roles by the teacher.
Step 2: You need to complete your individual research using the research handout as a guide.
Sport Investigator:
First, you must look and observe the object. You know that it is somehow related to sports, but how? Is it a piece of a sports equipment? Is it a piece of uniform? Or is it a game admission ticket? Architecture Investigator:
Your job is to determine where your artifact came from and what part of the building it may be. What kind of architecture is it? Art Investigator:
Your job is to determine the significance of your artifact. Describe major themes in Ancient Greek art. Research popular painters or sculptures in Ancient Greek Culture. Religion Investigator:
Your job is to research Ancient Greek religion, its role in every day life and major characteristics ( including places of worship and the gods that played a central role in the religion). Use the research guideline worksheet to help you. Also use these websites:

Step 3: After completion of research, your findings will be shared within the group.
Step 4: Your group will analyze findings and create a final newspaper article that summarizes all information found.
Now that you have completed and organized your research, as a group you are to write a newspaper article that brings together all of your research. The article should be designed as a breaking news story. You will describe the newly discovered artifacts and also tell readers their significance and importance in Ancient Greek culture.
