This is a two part project, therefore your grade
for this assignment will reflect both your individual and group work. Overall,
the project is worth a total of sixty-five (65) points. Twenty (20) of
those points are dependent on your work for the tasks pertaining to your
specific role. The other forty-five (45) points will be determined
by group work. The following grade scale will be used to evaluate
your project and determine your grade:
Criteria for Group Work
Variety and Diversity in Textbook Selections
(Possible 20 points)

Selections include works from both male and female
authors. (0-5 points)

Selections include the works of native English, Irish,

Selections have been taken from both 19th and 20th

Choice of Selecting and Manner of Incorporating
In-Class Text Excerpts (Possible 25 points)

Selections are diverse; themes, images, plot, characterization
or techniques which are present in the excerpt correspond to a similar
point in one of the student selected pieces (helping the literary pieces
to compliment one another.) (0-5 points)

The questions following each selection are creative
and serve to foster fruitful discussion. (0-10 points)

The introductions preceding each selection are brief
and concise; they serve to prepare the reader for the passage that he/
she is about to read, instructing the student to look for literary elements
