Evaluation

There are two different ways that your projects will be evaluated. 60% of your final grade will come from your Group Work, while 40% of your final grade will be based on your Individual work. Both sections will be evaluated according to specific requirements listed below.

You will notice that each requirement is accompanied by a point value. You will receive a number (from 0 to 15) for each component that indicates how well you have fulfilled the task. 0 is the lowest (unsatisfactory) and 15 is the highest (excellent).

Researching your Web sites: To the best of your ability, you have explored each web site (including the general background information), and have answered the questions correctly and completely. In your answers to the questions, you have reflected and included how your study group (people or plants or animals), would be affected by ecotourism.

Individual Report: You have written a one page report (approximate length), which clearly expresses your position and why  you have decided that way. You have used details and examples to support your position. You have clearly related your "expert" study subject to the topic of ecotourism.

Individual Report: You have used the computer to type your report. You have spelled everything correctly and used good grammar.

Overall: Your individual work (answering questions, writing your report), is neat, on-time, and you put alot of effort in your work. You were well-prepared for the oral presentation, and did not simply read of the report.

Group Contribution: You have been an active participant in your group. You have shared your ideas but also listened to others ideas. You have contributed to the group report, the visual aid and have presented your expert opinion well for the presentation.

 Pro/Con List: Your group has brainstormed ideas and placed them into the appropriate pro or con category. You have carefully thought of pros and cons and  been specific in stating why they are a pro or con. You have followed directions for the format of a pro/con list. It is neat. All experts opinions are shown.

Group written report: All experts opinions are represented. You have carefully joined each report so that it reads smoothly. It is clear what your expert opinion is, and that opinon is supported with details and examples.

Group written report: Your report uses correct grammar, complex sentences and correct spelling. It appears neat and is typed.

Visual Aid: Your visual aid supports your paper and presentation. It is colorful, creative, includes pictures, drawings, important facts, and images off the internet are a bonus!

Oral Presentation: You have successfully presented the ideas of your paper by giving the main idea and offering interesting or important examples. The visual aid was used effectively.  It was well-planned and easy for the class to follow as well as convincing.

Delivery of Presentation: Your group has divided the presentation to include everyone. Everyone has a speaking part.Everyone spoke clearly, loudly, and with confidence. You knew the material and did not just "read" off your report. You made eye contact with your audience.You could answer questions if there were any.
