Step One:
Each member will
select one of the four roles and use the resources provided to research
recent developments and concerns in their area of expertise. Each
will plan part of the speech, taking a position for the President and setting
goals for the next four years on their assigned issue.

Step Two:
Each member must complete
and submit a copy of the "Role Management Worksheet" provided below. This
worksheet will help you track the information you find while searching the web
and assist you in constructing your portion of the President's Address.
Step Three:
Then the group will meet
to discuss their findings, set an agenda for the President, and create a speech.
They will rank the four components (role topics) in order of importance and
place these parts in the speech in that order. The most important issue
to the President will be first, and so on. The speech must have a logical
beginning and ending, and the four components must flow together to form a concise
and coherent whole.
Step Four:
The group will then present
the speech to the class. One member will give the speech, acting as the
President. The group must also submit a typed copy of the speech to the teacher,
including a bibliography of web sources with proper citation.
