The Process

You need to complete the following steps to finish the WebQuest:

Step One

Your teacher will assign you to a group of six and determine each student's role within the group. Each member of your group will become an expert on a different simple machine (lever, pulley, screw, wheel and axle, wedge, incline plane).

Step Four

Use the information from your worksheet to create a group presentation using PowerPoint. Click here for help on using PowerPoint. Step Five

You have now learned about the six simple machines. Think about what simple machines the Little's have in their house to help you bring in the package. Could a pencil be a lever? Your teacher has a grab bag full of packages at her desk. Select one member from your group to choose a package. This package represents the one that arrived on the Little's doorstep.
 
 

Step Six

Get a building set from the teacher. Brainstorm with your group about ways to use simple machines to get the package into the house. Decide on a final plan and build it!
