A Slave in Colonial Jamestown

Your role is to complete your task as if you were a slave who had recently arrived in Jamestown, Virginia in the year 1609. Many African slaves were brought to Jamestown as indentured servants. This means that after a they had served their master for several years, they became free. However as years went by this changed, and children who were born into slavery became slaves for life. They were bought and sold just as if they were property.

While you are doing your research, you will use this worksheet to answer several important questions about your role. At the end of the project, you will need to turn in the completed worksheet to your teacher.
