A new archaeological site has just been stumbled upon in Greece. Archaeologists think that this site dates back to ancient times and may contain many valuable artifacts.

An inexperienced archaeological team needs your assistance.

You must help them to determine how they should proceed

• what tools should be used,
• how sites are mapped out, and
• the general process of archaeology.

Once they find these artifacts, the archaeologists have to determine the artifact's importance in Greek society. Use your knowledge of the ancient Greek civilization to assist the team in identifying the artifacts.

You must:

• write a one page summary of your findings individually
• create a list of specific steps for the archaeologists to follow
• give a class presentation providing your recommendations for the archaeologists as a group

Think of the class as the archaeological team and present your advice.
