The liberal education provided by the fine arts, humanities,
social sciences, natural sciences, and mathematics
forms the fundamental
base for all other academic, intellectual, cultural, and professional
pursuits. In a rapidly changing world, in which most individuals
question their beliefs and change their careers from time to
time, there is increasing reason to believe that an education
in one or more of the arts and sciences will prepare individuals
for productive as well as meaningful lives. We welcome all those
who wish to confront the mysteries of the world, ponder the good
and the bad of human experience, and make a contribution to the
personal, social, cultural, and physical well-being of themselves
and others.
