WILL Application

Over the course of the academic year, Women Involved in Living and Learning (WILL) and Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies organize various programs related to women and gender. Speakers and performers have included Maya Angelou, Evelyn Fox Keller, Barbara Ehrenreich, Phoebe Eng, Susan Faludi, Elizabeth Martinez, Ruth Rosen, Cornel West, Urvashi Vaid, and the musical group Sweet Honey in the Rock.

WILL students meet with these speakers and performers in small "fireside chats," before or after their presentations, to discuss visitors' lives, work, and ideas. These discussions bring coursework, women's issues, and students' own beliefs and aspirations into much sharper focus. These conversations allow WILL students to test their knowledge, to challenge themselves and one another, and to meet people with diverse experiences and perspectives. These co-curricular events complement students' classroom learning and link the classroom experience to what goes on outside of class.

In addition, WILL students organize programs for the campus and the community as part of their gender action projects.
