The object of this Panhellenic Association shall be to develop and maintain women’s Greek Life and
inter-Greek relations at a high level of accomplishment and in so doing:
Consider the goals and ideals of member groups as continually applicable to campus and personal life.
Promote superior scholarship as basic to intellectual achievement.
Cooperate with member organizations and the university administration in concern for and maintenance of high social and moral standards.
Act in accordance with National Panhellenic Conference UNANIMOUS AGREEMENTS and policies.
Act in accordance with such rules established by Panhellenic Council as do not violate the sovereignty, rights, and privileges of member organization.
Interfraternity Council - Men's Governing Body
The purpose of the Interfraternity Council shall be to develop and maintain fraternity life and fraternity relations at a high level
of accomplishment and in doing so to:
Provide a setting in which to propose, debate and vote on legislation pertaining to the common interest of the men’s Greek system.
Serve as the official medium of communication between the Administration of the University and the men’s Greek system. The Interfraternity Council shall also serve as the liaison between the men and women’s Greek systems.
Provide an internal judicial system, known as the Interfraternity Council Judicial council. The body shall hear all cases as may be alleged to be in violation of the Interfraternity Council’s rules and code of ethics, those of the University, or the City of Richmond, the Commonwealth of Virginia, or the United States of America. This judicial court of the Interfraternity Council shall operate as prescribed in the By- laws of the same.
Carry out several other duties, apart from its general and judicial functions, which must be budgeted for on an annual basis. These shall consist of the following:
To help rising leaders in the Greek system through various workshops.
To recognize outstanding leadership, academics, athletics, and community service at the end of every academic year.
To appropriate funds each year for the purpose of providing security at all lodge and other Interfraternity Council sanctioned events.
The Interfraternity Council, in coordination with the Panhellenic Council, shall annually sponsor Greek- wide events including “Trick or Treat Street,” “Greek Week,” and a community service project to be determined by the executive boards.
