UR Fraternity Chapters

Kappa Alpha
Eta Chapter
Founded: 1870

As a member of Kappa Alpha we seek to live by the seven virtues of our spiritual founder Robert E. Lee: sincerity, moral strength, dignity, humbleness, courtesy, sympathy and religious fervor. On the University of Richmond campus you will find KA brothers getting involved in every aspect of campus life: club sports, varsity athletics, school government, the interfraternal organization, choral clubs, religious organizations, and as leaders in the classroom.


Kappa Sigma
Beta Beta Chapter
Founded: 1898

The Beta Beta Brotherhood is a diverse, but close knit group of young men. We are all very different in our behavior, hobbies, and interests but the letters unite us together as one. Whether it is on the intramural field or in the classroom the brothers of Kappa Sigma are their to support one another and to improve the overall quality of life at the University of Richmond.


Phi Gamma Delta
Rho Chi Chapter
Founded: 1890

Phi Gamma Delta exists to promote lifelong friendships, reaffirm high ethical standards and values, and to foster personal development in pursuit of excellence. Phi Gamma Delta is committed to providing opportunities for each brother to develop responsibility, leadership, scholarship and social skills in order to become a fully contributing member of society.


Sigma Alpha Epsilon
Virginia Tau Chapter
Founded: 1884

Every member of our fraternity embodies The True Gentleman which teaches mental, physical and emotional strength. Virginia Tau takes on an important role in all aspects of the on campus college life at Richmond as well as playing as a positive role in the community. Our brothers are willing to tackle any goal no matter the size and no matter the obstacles in the way. Our chapter continues to grow and has goals to become even more active in the community as well as to create the strongest brotherhood through accomplishing great feats.


Sigma Chi
Epsilon Rho Chapter
Founded: 1958

Staying true to our commitment of recruiting men of different temperaments, talents and convictions, the Sigma Chi chapter at the University of Richmond is one of the most diverse in the Greek community. With members hailing from from many different backgrounds, pursuing a wide range of interests, and often participating in several other area organizations besides the Fraternity, Sigma Chi provides an excellent environment for personal growth and development as well as the opportunity to become part of the most closely knit family of brothers in the world. We look forward to continuing this tradition and encourage anyone interested to come out and spend time with the members of Sigma Chi.


Sigma Phi Epsilon
Virginia Alpha Chapter
Founded: 1901

We excel in a Balanced Man Program which emphasizes the importance of diligence and healthy living. We offer several monetary scholarships to first year students that demonstrate a continuous commitment to self-betterment. We encourage and motivate our brothers to take leadership roles in the classroom as well as in variety of groups on campus.

Alpha Chi Omega
Iota Mu Chapter
Founded: 1991

Alpha Chis pride themselves on a great bond of sisterhood and the amount of fun we have with each other! Our favorite campus event is our Mr. Alpha Chi Contest which is held annually to raise money for our philanthropy, helping victims of domestic violence. Our sisters are leaders throughout campus in many different clubs and organizations, and we are constantly looking for events to co-sponsor in order to have a great time and meet tons of new people!


Alpha Kappa Alpha
Rho Mu Chapter
Founded: 1995

The Rho Mu chapter strives to perpetuate Alpha Kappa Alpha's purpose of providing service to all mankind through our various programs. Our chapter has given back to the community through fundraisers for the American Cancer Society, two Walk for the Cure Breast Cancer walks with proceeds given to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, has sponsored Thanksgiving turkey drives for impoverished Richmond families, and has raised money for programs that help the homeless in the greater Richmond area. The ladies of the Rho Mu chapter are also responsible for more light-hearted programs that increase physical health, like our AKAerobics series and programs that increase spiritual and mental health, like our Relax, Relate, Release series that includes massages, beauty tips, and more.


Delta Delta Delta
Gamma Eta Chapter
Founded: 1986

TriDelta is a special blend of exceptional young women that together form a remarkably strong and irreplaceable sisterhood. Although there is no such thing as a stereotypical TriDelt we pride ourselves on being classy, sassy, and loyal women who are always there for each other through thick and thin. Whether it is volunteering to help kids with cancer, dealing Texas Hold ‘Em at our annual Casino Night, dressing up in cow girl attire for our Barn Dance, or showing our spirit on the intramural fields, our sisters always know how to have a good time and how to be there for each other.

Delta Gamma offers to women of all ages a rich heritage based on principles of personal integrity, personal responsibility & intellectual honesty. Its primary purpose is to foster high ideals of friendship, promote educational & cultural interests, create a true sense of social responsibility and develop the finest qualities of character.

Founded: 1985

Kappa Alpha Theta exists to nurture each member throughout her college and alumnae experience and to offer a lifelong opportunity for social, intellectual and moral growth as she meets the higher and broader demands of mature life. Theta is a unique and close knit sorority with members dedicated to the philanthropy, ritual, and of course the sisters. The sisters' commitment to one another sets this sorority apart from others; everyone fits in in Theta! The sorority is an excellent extracurricular activity, opportunity to provide a helping hand, and a lifetime bond.


Kappa Kappa Gamma

Kappa Kappa Gamma at its core is friendship, leadership and scholarship...an opportunity and experience for a lifetime. At the University of Richmond we pride ourselves on our sisterhood and the diverse group of women we share. Each sister brings a unique contribution to the chapter as they are involved in many things besides sorority life. Kappa is what unites us as we share the college experience together.


Pi Beta Phi
Virginia Eta Chapter
Founded: 1987

The mission of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women is to promote friendship, develop women of intellect and integrity, cultivate leadership potential, and enrich lives through community service. With two major philanthropy events each year, numerous social events, enthusiastic participation in Greek life as a whole, and a devoted group of unique women, our chapter truly lives up to this mission. Our members are leaders, volunteers, scholars, athletes, friends, and, above all, sisters.
