Explore UR WorldExpand your knowledge and experiences globally... Explore UR World is an exciting community in which both domestic and international students live together in Marsh Hall and participate in a number of planned activities throughout the academic year. Last year, participants explored the cultures of Thailand, India, Ethiopia, France, and Brazil. They traveled off campus and met at Richmond restaurants where a guest speaker would not only introduce them to the history and culture behind the cuisine, but also the flavor of day-to-day life in the country. Participants also went on a tour of Richmond, attended an international film series, and participated in several events hosted by the Office of International Education including an international barbecue, trivia competition, and study abroad orientation. Current and past members of Explore UR World will tell you that they have developed lasting friendships due, in part, to the program. Sharing common interests and a common living environment helps members develop a cohesive group during the first weeks of college life that can last throughout their college experiences.
Program Highlights... § Meet people from all over the world § Enjoy a diverse living environment § Make an easier transition to Richmond § Jumpstart your study abroad planning § Participate in global-themed programs § Build relationships with faculty & staff advisors § Partner with the Office of International Education § Enjoy a dedicated Resident Assistant (RA) Connection with International Education... Explore UR World works closely with the Office of International Education, whose mission is to help students develop a world view, see and analyze issues from various perspectives, understand the broad range of human experiences and celebrate the diversity of the human spirit. Explore UR World students participate and engage in many of the Office of International Education’s programs. Click here to apply online. Applications are due by June 6, 2008.
