Richmond College Traditions

An important aspect of the coordinate system is the well-established traditions each college sponsors.  For Richmond College, these traditions establish meaningful relationships between students, faculty, and administration.

Richmond College Investiture Service
First-year men are formally accepted into the college and introduced to its history and symbols with a focus on the honor system.

Richmond College Homecoming Dance
An annual social event held during Homecoming Weekend sponsored by the Richmond College Student Government Association and the Richmond College Sophomore Cabinet.

Richmond College Leadership Dinner
Student leaders share their organizations' plans for the year and are thanked for their commitment to Richmond College and the University.

Richmond College Senior Banquet
Senior men are thanked and honored for their participation in contributing to the University of Richmond community.  A keynote speaker addresses the seniors and awards are presented.

Richmond College and Westhampton College Graduation Reception and Candlelight Ceremony
Senior men and women gather with their parents and guests at this social event.  Following the reception, the Candlelight Ceremony is a final opportunity to reflect on experiences at the University.

Richmond College First Fridays
First Fridays is a new Richmond College program in which the Dean and Associate Dean visit students in a selected residence hall on the "first Friday" of each month.  Their purpose is to promote communication and build relationships with the students of Richmond College while enjoying pizza together.
